One of the best ways I know how to take care of myself is to meal prep. Having my lunches prepped and with me takes so much hassle away from lunchtime. I don’t have to wonder how I’m going to get healthy food to fuel me for the rest of the day, I don’t have to wonder where it’s going to be from, or when I’m going to have the chance to grab something from somewhere. When I have my meal prep for lunch, that is on less thing I have to worry about for the day.

I recently got asked by someone, “Don’t you get tired of eating the same thing everyday?” Of course, I’ve heard this question many times in regards to meal prepping, but I took a second to think about my response. Finally, I answered, “I get tired of having to eat something everyday. It’s this never-ending priority. But I no, I don’t really get tired of eating the same food everyday, for a couple of reasons.”

1️⃣
First and foremost, I only meal prep foods I like and enjoy eating. Since I know what I like, I’ve gotten good at preparing those food items. I enjoy my meal prep because I only prepare things I enjoy.

Secondly, decision fatigue is real and omnipresent. We’re constantly tasked with making decisions, from the moment we open our eyes in the morning, we ask ourselves, “are we going to snooze the alarm or is it time to get up?” And we’re making decisions until the moment we slip into sleep, “is my neck comfortable at this angle? should I turn the heat down?” It’s honestly quite exhausting how many choices we face on a day to day basis, and I’m not even talking about any big life decisions, I’m taking about the simple, mundane choices throughout the day.

So meal prepping, I believe is a saving grace, because it takes away at least one decision during the day that I don’t have to think about it.
The person that asked this question, wasn’t looking for this type of lengthy response, I’m sure, but I’m extremely passionate about health, wellness, and of course, living with intentions – which for me, includes meal prepping.

So, no I don’t get tired of eating the same thing. In fact, I look forward to eating the same thing every day because it’s one less thing I have to think about during my day to day, and I have every intention to continue to meal prep as long as it makes my life a little bit more convenient.
