A couple weeks ago, I listened to a friend talk about starting her day with affirmations. Each morning, after she drinks her coffee and brushes her teeth, she will stare at her reflection in the bathroom mirror. She will say things like, “I am strong. I am capable. I am determined. I am beautiful. I am creative.” Sometimes she’ll repeat the same few for a couple days and then sometimes she’ll switch it up and say whatever she needs to hear that particular morning.
I was instantly fascinated by this intimate ritual. It’s simple to think these things about yourself, but to actually look at yourself and articulate affirmations seemed like a game changer, like the ultimate self care ritual. So I came up with some of my own affirmations. After I drink my coffee and brush my teeth, I look into the mirror and lock gazes with my reflection and repeat affirmations. It’s an act of self love I never realized would be so comforting. When I repeatedly tell myself that I am strong, capable, and creative, I truly begin to believe those things are true about myself.

These are my affirmations for this week:
I am light. I radiate light. I am made of a glowing, warm light. I illuminate light. I attract light. My light shines as bright as I let it.
Here’s another one for your affirmation toolkit: “I am good enough, I am strong enough, I am smart enough, I am pretty enough, I am worthy of all good!”
